The class decided to have a class feedback session for our project ideas up to now and I Skyped in to join them. It was great to get initial feedback for our ideas, probably one of the first times each one of us began to share them.

Right now I want to design something that uses data from an existing database to help citizens by improving their everyday experience. I have started identifying some vulnerable citizens that I could design for and with, for example, visually impaired people, deaf people, pedestrians and young school children. One of the main things that someone said to me that stuck with me is that I should try bring in my architectural background and possibly implement it through one of the deliverables, make a model of my design within the city for example. I've found it difficult to use my undergraduate knowledge throughout this course so far because they're two quite different things. Of course design and certain programmes I've been able to bring into Interaction Design but not much else than this. So it would be something I'd love to add on to my final project.

I'm also not sure about the term 'Big Data' as it is so vague and I said I didn't know if I knew enough about it to do something with it and they encouraged me that it shouldn't be a reason to not pursue it, and Big Data is just that, it's very big and covers a lot. They also suggested looking at existing databases and using those if I don't end up using a sensor to collect that data.

Overall it was really good to get insights so early in the project. I felt like I was ready for some sort of feedback in order to go over my report and reframe it. We are meeting our tutors for a chat next week before the reports are due so I am looking forward to see what they think.
